Barking & Dagenham
Barking and Dagenham Plus meets every Tuesday from 8.30 pm at
The White Horse
118 High Road
Chadwell Heath
Essex
RM6 6NU
On club nights, an event is organised and run by a Group member, and these events can range from a quiz to a guest speaker. At the weekends, there is always something happening, be it an evening out organised by our Group, or an event organised by another Group in our Area, and even events organised on a National level.
Membership of the National Federation is only £26 a year, and allows you entry to any Group within the Federation, to take part in any event organised by Plus, and it opens the door to opportunities to make new friends.
Group Meetings & Weekend Events
On a Tuesday night we try to run an interesting and varied programme. A quick look at the Events Calendar will show you the kind of activities being organised on a weekly basis. As stated the evenings events are organised and run by Group members and any new ideas are always welcome.
Weekend events include discos, which are run by Groups within our Area as well as the National Federation, with each Group hiring a venue and a D.J. These events are mainly open to Plus members only. We also organise events which include meals, cinema, theatre and sporting events. There is always something to do and a lot of groups within our area meet most days of the week.
About Our Honorary President
Roland RatWe were very pleased to announce that we have a television icon as our Club President. It is no other than Roland Rat, who can often be seen down the club reading out the announcements (well, sort of!). Roland was a TV icon during the 80's and is currently living in the United States . He still writes to us from time to time and we are proud to have him as our President.
The committee members are all members of Barking & Dagenham Plus, and are elected on our yearly Annual General Meetings. Anybody can become a member of the committee, even if you've only been a member of the Federation for 1 day. Although it may seem very formal having a committee, they are simply there to ensure the group runs efficiently and a programme of events is run.
