Membership
Most groups will have a four week initial free Membership - you can come along to their club night and weekend events for four whole weeks before you have to decide if you want to become a member.
When you've had a good look around and you are about to fill in a membership form, you will also be asked to fork out some money. The membership fee is £25 for the full year from sign-up date (Quest groups have a lower membership fee - £17.50) - less than a months gym subscription!
Membership fee per club can differ as some clubs charge weekly subs and some not, some alternatively charge an annual membership fee, some have to pay the landlord for the use of the weekly meeting room and have other overhead costs and general running costs.
As Plus is a non-profit organisation most of the membership fee you hand over to your club will be going straight to the Area they are linked to. With part of your membership fee all Area overhead costs will be paid and part will be put back into the Federation for organising more and better events and activities.
So, what do you get for your membership fee?
Well, first of all you will get a letter from your Area Membership Officer with your own personal plastic Plus membership card. You will need this card when you are attending events and activities, so the organisers know that you are a fully fledged member.
As a Plus member you will get full access to this web-site, including the several forums, event calendar etc. When you are logged in you can not only make use of the above, but you may also contact event organisers and other members.
When you are a member you can attend all Plus events and activities, which are usually bargains as everything is priced at cost. We can get great deals as the more people attend, the better the price.
