World Cafe Outcomes (PDF)
James Oliver of Solihull Plus remembers these ideas and points being raised
during the World Café event on 24th February ;
Firstly JR of Reading group would like to do National Charity event which would
involve 24 hours on a Roller Coaster at Brean. JR might not be happy to do it
all herself so perhaps a team of 11 or 23 volunteers could do it with her in
shifts of one or two hours. Then everyone who goes to Brean could put five or
ten pounds as sponsorship, thus Plus would raise £1000.00 or more so that
Federation can attract the attention of the media. This would be the local TV &
Radio and generate interest in regional press agencies that do the regional
stories that appear in the National Newspapers.
Ideas on Publicity
- Getting Plus Groups on the social networking sites at moment. Clearly
most people who attended the Focus event are on Facebook.
- Telling your friends especially the non plus friends on Facebook et al,
that you are attending Plus events in your status box.
- Giving feedback on events.
- Explain the benefits of Plus membership which is social networking in
the real world.
- Advertising your local group on Gumtree and other online classified ad
sites. Usually these sites will allow you to post for free.
- Watching out for the next big social networking site clearly BBC, Yahoo,
Microsoft and Google would like another Facebook or My Space, so watch out
for them.
- Remember that Publicity is important, so we need the post of National
Publicity Officer filled asap and the other roles in the Non Executive
committee.
- Send out copies of group programmes rather than posters, to local fast
food outlets and libraries, let potential new members know what will
happening when they visit the group the first night.
