In 2012, the National Federation of Plus Areas is
offering its members the opportunity to obtain a CIEH Level Two
qualification in Health and Safety, an industry standard qualification.
Successful participants will be enabled to fulfil roles
as managers, supervisors and organisers.
Plus will also benefit by gaining members who are
enabled to organise and deliver events and communicate with contractors,
insurers and other agencies such as Environmental Health Departments.
The course will cover the following topics:
• accident preparation
• management of safety
• risk assessment
• responsibilities of employers and employees
• common causes of incidents
• the importance of design to safety
The course culminates in an examination of thirty
multiple choice questions that are marked externally.
You are encouraged to discuss your participation with
your Area Committee as funding may be available.
Francis Wallington, the course leader has many years
experience of delivering a wide range of courses in Plus and industry.
Participants are strongly advised to seek overnight accommodation
locally to enable a prompt start. Make a weekend of it and explore the
Midlands.
