Contact enquiries@kingslynnplus.org.uk Its that time of year again when we get excited that Plus members from all over the country venture to sunny King's Lynn to spend a weekend in a field with few amenities - they must be crazy! If you haven't made up your mind yet whether to attend the King's Lynn Mid-summer Party, please do, its not too late to join us in the most laid-back and relaxed event in the Plus Calendar (not to mention the best value for money). Venue will be open hopefully from mid-afternoon on Friday, fast food orders need to be in by about 7.30pm, and food will arrive around 8.30pm to 9pm. A free cup of punch awaits those who join us for the chill-out evening on Friday, the discount at Beers of Europe has once again been arranged on presentation of a voucher, and we even have a "quiz-let" with a £20 B of E prize for you to try your hand at for the Friday-nighters. BBQ will be lit around 4.30pm on Saturday so remember your food (rolls and salad provided). A separate BBQ is available for any veggies out there. Don't forget the National Rounders in The Walks on Saturday afternoon - just the way to work up an appetite. Just one thing to remember - no toilet facilities between around 7pm and 9pm on Friday night - but do not fear - we hear the pub down the road is quite good....as long as you come back to chill/party afterwards!! You can set up camp from 3pm on Friday Cost £10.00 for 2 nights camping, BBQ (bring your own meat) and disco £8.00 for BBQ, disco and Saturday night camping £5.00 for BBQ and disco Unfortunately we aren't able to do a pizza run this year. However we are organising a Chinese and Indian run. Dawn Petty will be in charge of this and needs to book orders by 7.30pm to be collected around 9.00pm. For those who aren't orientally cuisined inclined we have negotiated for food to be served all day upto 9.30pm at the Dray and Horses (which you pass on your way to the field). Their home prepared is dammed good food includes: Sirloin Steak £12.50 Rump Steak £ 9.50 Other meals such as scampi, chilli, lasange etc around £7.50 Sandwiches £ 2.50 Keith Israel and me will be loitering in the pub from about 7.00pm and may sample the bar as well !! Bring your own beer as no bar in the village hall (Cheap beer!) We have negotiated a 10% reduction at Beers of Europe again this year We may have one or two silly games when we get back from the pub and the Chinese and Indian eaters have finished! National Rounders at The Walks in King's Lynn on Saturday afternoon (contact Anglia Area for details) BBQ will be fired up about 4.30pm on Saturday (provisions are being made for vegetarian BBQ) If it rains or you can't be bothered to bring a tent people often sleep in the hall Come and join us - about 60 came last year and we had a right laugh Paul Catterwell
