A fun learning experience that enables members to manage projects, teams, marketing campaigns and activities. The member will be able to share their experience and network with other members. Their skills and confidence will be tested and improved.

From the Plus point of view, we are passing on the experience and skills needed to run the organisation at any level. In times when membership, when we have problems, filling committee posts and running projects, this is opportunity to discover if you have the "RIGHT STUFF" and what is needed to positively contribute.

We will be bringing together a cast of professional and experienced trainers in one location. They are all experienced plussers with a detailed knowledge of the organisation to share and a willingness to excite you with opportunities. We will use a mixture of delivery techniques to make your participation, interesting fun and challenging.

As you will be aware the National Federation of Eighteen Plus Groups is changing the way it is managing the organisation as a whole. To respond to this change and equip members with the skills to run the organisation, we are running the training event, Inspire. This event is critical to the success of the Federation.
The topics of discussion will be; using people networks; marketing and publicity; presentations; communication; team skills; project management; activities and safety at events. We will be offering an opportunity to learn about Committee posts and the handling of membership records. These are all the ingredients for running groups.
Of course, we hope to challenge you, we will also do our best to make the weekend fun and a perfect setting to share experiences and for building friendships. For the evening, we are offering a live cabaret lead by Shelia M.

We would welcome bed and breakfast bookings for Friday 2nd September and those who wish to use Alsager as a base to explore the area. Please ensure that the published deadlines are honoured.

In commercial terms such an event would cost £60,000 to deliver. However the event is heavily subsidised.

FAQs

a] How many of the classes do you get to take part in over the weekend?

The weekend is divided into sessions of an hour's length of which seven are formal delivery. The remaining sessions will utilise games and simulations to consolidate and practice learning . Apart from the simulations, it is up to participants to choose the topics and sessions from the menu .

b] What time does the weekend start and finish

The event starts from 10.00 am and will finish around 17.30 on Sunday. Accommodation can be organised for Friday night if requested, but at extra cost to the individual.

c] Is there any description of the classes than just the title ?

The end result for the member will be an increased confidence and knowledge to organise ,manage and deliver projects. To be able to work within a team and be capable of leading a team How to motivate and rewards people for doing and completing tasks. To encourage experimentation and innovation through the recognition of opportunities and constraints To encourage communication and sharing with others. For the Federation, we hope we will improve the quality of activities and marketing from group level upwards. That increase member's willingness to take responsibility for group running and innovation.
